At AWE Impact, we uplift people and solutions that care for the ocean - across leadership, business, and borders.

AWE OCEAN – Reconnecting with the Ocean Within and Around Us
The ocean calls to something deep in us. It speaks of mystery, power, cycles, and care. It’s both a life source and a teacher—and it’s in urgent need of our attention.
AWE Ocean is our response to that call. It is a space to reconnect—to the sea, to the wisdom of the body, and to the collective responsibility we hold for future generations.
Our deep Norwegian roots gives a depth and natural belonging to the ocean sector , coming from a country of deep knowledge and long history as seafarers and with maritime companies with strong respect.
We work with leaders across the Nordics and the Global South to reawaken a more relational, regenerative approach to ocean industries. Through deep leadership journeys, we explore how to align business, strategy, and innovation with care for the ocean—and care for each other.
We are proud Member of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) and mentor in Female leadership programs in WISTA
Benedicte has a long bakcground from the maritime industry, serving as vice president strategy globally for Wilhelmsen and board positions in maritime global companies.

A Gender Lens for a Regenerative Ocean
The ocean sector has long been shaped by masculine-dominated systems—focused on extraction, speed, and control. At AWE, we know that this story is incomplete.
We need more women in leadership—bringing in diverse perspectives, values, and strategies that honor sustainability, long-term thinking, and interconnection.
AWE Ocean actively works to increase female representation in maritime and ocean-related industries by:
● Creating spaces where women’s voices and leadership are seen, heard, and valued.
● Supporting female entrepreneurs, experts, and leaders through mentorship, visibility, and access.
● Designing programs that awaken the full spectrum of leadership—strategic, intuitive, relational, systemic.
We believe that a balanced ocean economy requires balanced leadership—where gender diversity is not a side conversation, but central to regeneration.

Why It Matters
The ocean is a commons—belonging to all, serving all. And yet, decisions about its future are still made by too few. By supporting more women to lead in the ocean space, we’re not just balancing gender—we’re expanding possibility.
We’re shaping an ocean economy that is more human, more hopeful, and more whole.
